Kalyan Dombivli Runners is happy to announce a Blood Donation Camp in association
with TATA Memorial Hospital
on Wednesday, 2nd Oct 2024 - 9:00AM to 1:30PM .
​​As a proud member of our running community, you already embody the spirit of health and vitality. Now, let's extend that energy to those in need by participating in our yearly Blood Donation Camp. Your blood donation can make a profound difference—helping accident victims, patients undergoing surgery, or those battling life-threatening conditions like cancer.

By donating blood, you're not just giving a part of yourself; you're giving someone the gift of life. A single donation can save multiple lives and provide hope to families in their most challenging times.

Blood Donation General Requirements:
â–º Age: 18 to 60 years (up to 65 years if donating regularly)
â–º Weight: 45 kgs or more
â–º Hemoglobin at least 12.5 gm/dl
â–º Previous blood donation was more than 3 months (males) and more than 4 months (females)
Precautions before donation :
â–º Should have eaten something within 4 hours prior to donation
â–º Should have slept well for at least 6 hours, within 24 hours before donation
â–º Should not have smoked within 4 hours prior to donation
â–º Should not have consumed alcohol within 24 hours prior to donation
â–º Should not have undergone tattooing or body piercing within 12 months
â–º Do not wear clothes with tight sleeves on upper arm
Post-donation care :
â–º Take more fluids orally than usual in next 4 hours like fruit juices, water
â–º Do not smoke for 30 minutes after donation
â–º Do not stand in direct sunlight for long
â–º Do not take alcohol for next 24 hours
â–º Avoid any heavy strenuous activity for that day like jogging, workout like heavy weight lifting in gymnasium, etc.
â–º If there is bleeding from phlebotomy site, raise arm and apply pressure at the site
â–º Remove bandage 5-6 hours after donation
â–º If there is feeling of giddiness either lie down or sit with head between the knees
â–º If the symptoms persist call for help or return to blood centre and consult the doctor
The Blood Centre will check your:
â–º Weight
â–º Hemoglobin
â–º Blood Pressure
â–º Pulse
â–º Temperature
â–º Ask questions about your medical history
For safety of blood donor as well as recipient, blood is taken from a donor only if the Blood Centre Doctor qualifies you on the basis of guidelines laid down by Drugs Controller General (India), which is the Central Licensing Authority in India
