Is it a Individual challenge or Team Challenge ?

R.I.S.E. Winter Challenge is a TEAM Challenge, each participant will be added to a TEAM as per category they will select while registration. Participant will receive rules for activities for eligibility and reward points table to earn points for each approved activity. Points will be accumulated for the team by all team members to improve their ranking and get to top of leaderboard.

What is the duration of the RISE Winter Challenge?

Is this event virtual or at physical venue ?

The event is virtual, i.e., you can do your activities anywhere outdoor around the world, where ever you are present. The activity should be outdoor, recorded using GPS app - STRAVA

What are the categories to register ?

Challengers: Moderate runners/joggers (16+ years).  - comfortable mileage over the course of the challenge - These would mostly be new runners who have just started or wanting to start, those who are coming back from a break and wanting to get back on track and those who run occasionally but want to get into the habit of running regularly. These participants will gain points for team only based on their running activities

Warriors: Elite runners (16+ years). - pure running experience + high mileage over the 3 months duration of the challenge. These would mostly be regular runners who are already used to long runs and are looking to have more mileage to prepare for an upcoming event, TMM 42 kms for example. Warriors will have separate teams.
Champions: Kids aged 8-15 years. - these are for participants between the age of 8 to 16 and they too have 2 options as Challengers. Kids will have separate teams too.

What is "Bring Your Own Team"  - BYOT ?

If you have group of known runners to join your team , you can submit complete team registration. BYOT is applicable only for Warriors & Challengers. Each team must have 10 runners with atleast 2 female runners. BYOT Teams will not get any replacement in event of exit of any participant of team.

How do I record my activities?

Participants must use the GPS enabled Mobile App - STRAVA which will give sharing link of activity with GPS Map, kilometer splits, pace details.  The completed activity should be submitted to our iKDR app manually or can be automatically synced. How can I submit my activity ?

Accepted Answer

Every participant will receive a free iKDR mobile App login. After activity is recording on Strava app, participant can automatically sync activity to iKDR App or manual submit the activity with valid link and distance details.

How many kms is compulsory ?

Minimum  2 kms will be compulsory per activity for October Month, the minimum criteria will be increase in November and December. The maximum limit for each month will be shared in games rules.

How often must I should do activity ?

Participants 1 activity in a day will be considered in KDR RISE challenge. Maximum of 5 days per week will be allowed throughout the 3 months competition , i.e  2 days per week is mandatory rest days.

Can I change my team category after registration?

No, once registered in a category, participants cannot switch teams.

What are the key dates to remember?

Final rules announcement: September 21, 2026.Registration deadline: September 15, 2026.Challenge period: October 1 to December 31, 2026.

What happens if I don't complete the challenge?

Participants must complete at least 60 days of the challenge to receive a medal, e-certificate, and T-shirt.

I am not a regular / continuous runner, can I jog of walk ?

Accepted Answer

We encourage participants to progress in running from a moderate jogger / walker over this challenge 3 months. Every activity will be validated with PACE limit which will be communicated. Participant must complete the activity in given pace.

Can I do activity on Treadmill ?

Indoor Running/Walking - Applicable only for Smart Watches with treadmill mode with Workout link showing Date, Distance, Start time, End Time, Elapsed Time, Pace / Speed, HR, Cadence and Split timing.  Participant has inform in-advance to Captain/Vice Captain/Referee prior to starting the activity and will have limited kms per activity & number of activities allowed in a month.

Do I have to run every day for 3 months ?

No. Rest days of 2 days per week is mandatory througout the challenge period

Can I do outdoor cycling ?

KDR RISE Winter Challenge is only for running activity. Cycling is not allowerd as valid activity.

How many kms I have to run daily or weekly or monthly ?

Accepted Answer

Each Month will have rules with Minimum Km and Maximum Km daily limit. Example : Minimum 2Km for month of October Each Month will have capping of total mileage you can run. Example : Runner cannot exceed maximum 100Km in total for month of OctoberAs well there will be restriction on number of runs you may do for certain range of mileage - example : only 2 activity between 8km to 10km for month of October.  All this monthly rules and limit will depend on runner category - Warriors, Challenges, Champions and will be shared 7 days prior the start of challenge to all teams.

What should be ideal speed/pace to be participant ?

Any walker can easily do a fast paced brisk walk from Average 10 min / KM to 8min / KM. As the challenge progresses, one should improvise its pace to a consistent running which can be easy walk-run of average 8min / KM to 6 or less  / KM As a participant you should note that if you are regular walker, jogger/ runner than every activity should be continuous from point A to Point B for full length of your target KM , without any pauses or stops.
